The valves have different types of end connections. Depending on the type of application the valve is to be used for, you can select the appropriate end connection type. Some of the commonest type of valves end connections are as follow.KP-LOK

Flange Valve Connection:

This is one of the easy connections to install or remove from the pipeline. These are the most common use connection at the moment. As they are connected to the pipe flange, assembly and disassembly,they are very fast and easy. They are usually available in sizes of 15 mm or more. The important thing about these types of end connections is that they are attached with multiple screws. Therefore, a smaller tightening torque is ultimately required with respect to the threaded end connection. Therefore, the flange end connection can be used effectively for various types of valves.

The Socket Welded Valve End Fittings:

This type of connection is socketed so that they are attached to the end of the pipe flat bushing. They are used in steel fittings and pipes that require higher pressures and or higher temperatures without the need for repeated disassembling. They also guarantee tight connections.

The beauty of the valve is that the options are almost limitless. This is a good thing because their connections usually require different applications and specification. The three main options are as follows.

  1. NPT: This is a thread connection. In fact, the acronym NPT stands for National Pipe Thread Taper. This is the US standard for all valve thread and piping. Unlike threading that is seen using standard universal bolt, the tapered threads tighten the valve during installation. This creates a very fluid tight seal and many installation applications use this type of connection precisely. The screw taper ratios that meet ANSI and ASME standards are 1 inch in diameter by 16 in length.
  2. Flange: The flange valve is very practical. Some instructions have better flange connections than NPT in terms of seal quality, but this is an application and media dependent variable. The flange is bolted to form a seal between the valve port and the end of the pipe. This type of connection includes two and three valves that can be removed from the pipe without disturbing other connections. A disadvantage of the flange connection is that they could be subjected to thermal alteration and shocks.
  3. Socket Weld: They are normally used for small diameter pipe welding sockets (NPS 2 or even smaller) end of the tube is substantially two end portions of the recess portion of the valve is used together.
